Where Young People Grow, Connect, and Take Action
Young people have the power to shape their communities. Resilience Lab gives them the tools to do it.
At Resilience Lab, young people grow, find their voice, and take action. Together, we work to challenge racism and discrimination, strengthen community ties, and create real change in the places where young people live, learn, and belong.
What We Stand For
Resilience Lab is built on the belief that change starts with young people. By giving them the knowledge, tools, and support they need, we work together towards communities where everyone feels they belong. This takes shape in four concrete ways:
- Helping young people understand racism, discrimination, and what it means to have each other’s backs
- Building leadership skills, resilience, and a sense of belonging in their communities
- Giving youth workers and volunteers the tools to create spaces where everyone feels welcome
- Supporting young people to lead their own initiatives and campaigns against racism where they live
What We Offer
Resilience Lab takes young people and youth workers on a journey. It starts with building a shared understanding, through anti-racism workshops and outdoor leadership sessions that explore racism, discrimination, allyship, teamwork, and resilience. From there, participants step into more creative territory, using forum theatre and photography to tell their own stories and bring important conversations to life. As confidence grows, the focus shifts to action. Young people get the mentoring they need to design and lead their own local initiatives and online campaigns, turning what they have learned into something real and visible in their communities. The journey ends at a closing conference where everyone comes together to share what they built, what they learned, and what comes next.
Here is a closer look at what each stage involves:
Learning Together
- Anti-racism workshops that explore racism, discrimination, and what it means to be an ally
- Training for youth center staff and volunteers on building more inclusive programs
- Outdoor leadership workshops focused on resilience, teamwork, and building confidence
Creating and Expressing
- Forum theatre workshops where young people co-create and perform plays tackling racism head-on
- Photography workshops where participants tell their own stories about diversity and inclusion
Growing as Leaders

- One-on-one mentoring for young people ready to launch their own initiatives
Taking Action

Coming Together
